Conclusion

The results of our study have shown that BVM is an effective and well-tolerated topical treatment for scalp SD. Its clinical effect was also maintained in a large percentage of patients (i.e. 88%) after a 2-month wash-out period. In addition, the foam was considered by the patient population enrolled in this trial to be a more convenient pharmacological formulation in comparison with traditional topical formulations such as creams or lotions.
