Introduction to the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties

The National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF) is a resource for nurse practitioner (NP) educational programs, faculty, and clinician preceptors to maintain the currency and quality of NP education. This organization is dedicated exclusively to providing leadership in promoting quality education for NPs at the national and international levels. Through the development of educational program guidelines and educational resources, NONPF demonstrates a commitment to public interest in the preparation of qualified individuals to serve as NPs. It advances innovations in education, practice, and research -- the areas seen as the foundation for NP preparation.

Although NONPF engages in a broad spectrum of activities to support NP faculty and programs, a primary focus has been to develop standards to shape high-quality graduate educational programs. Our ongoing collection of program data and the expert knowledge of the membership have provided a strong foundation for our work. The philosophy of collaboration and consensus building to achieve a higher level of acceptance and integration across nursing has helped to establish our work as national guidelines.
