Introduction

The 5th Congress of the European Menopause and Andropause Society was held in Copenhagen, Denmark, July 1-5,2000. The meeting coincided with the momentous and imminent opening of the Öresund Bridge linking Sweden and Denmark. So, too, the conference brought together, from more than 70 countries, 2500 medical and social scientists and clinicians who focus on the health of men and women in relation to the variety of factors that accompany gonadal aging.
