All the available AT-II-receptor antagonists, when prescribed at usual starting dosages, are similar in cost. Average wholesale prices, rounded to the nearest dollar, for a one-month supply of medication are as follows: candesartan cilexetil 16 mg/day, irbesartan 150 mg/day, and valsartan 80 mg/day, $36; losartan potassium 50 mg/day, $38; telmisartan 40 mg/day, $39; and eprosartan mesylate 600 mg/day, $37. ^[88]
