Medscape Physicians' Choice: Top Hospitals for Cancer Treatment
Hospitals can vary in the degree of expertise, innovation, and experience that they offer in treating cancer. With more than 1.7 million estimated new cases of cancer in 2018, and more than 600,000 estimated deaths from the disease,[1] cancer treatment is clearly a leading and critical health issue for physicians and patients alike. Physicians, who speak with other clinicians, go to conferences, and read medical journals, are likely to have more knowledge about standout hospitals as well as a sense of where they themselves would go for medical care. We felt that this professional knowledge would be valuable to share.

Medscape identified five of the leading types of cancer, and asked, "Suppose you or someone in your family were just diagnosed with a complex or difficult case of (condition). Assuming that there are no barriers (eg, transportation cost) to treatment at the hospital you prefer, what hospital would you choose for treatment?"
More than 11,000 US physicians responded. Medscape's Physicians' Choice survey report presents results from all physicians and for relevant specialists only. Medscape Physicians' Choice: Top Hospitals for Key Conditions and Procedures (Non-cancer) is available here.
