Answer

IgAV is generally a benign disease with an excellent prognosis. Spontaneous resolution is usual: Most patients experience complete resolution of symptoms within 8 weeks, and probably fewer than 5% experience chronic symptoms. Initial attacks of IgAV can last several months, and relapses are possible. IgAV is fatal only in the rarest of cases.
