The following imaging studies may be helpful:

  • Renal and bladder ultrasonography

  • Spiral CT

  • Voiding cystourethrography

  • Radionuclide studies

IV urography rarely contributes additional information in the evaluation of hematuria and result in unnecessary exposure to ionizing radiation.
