Metabolic, vasomotor, and respiratory disturbances include the following features:

  • Sweating

  • Fever

  • Mottling

  • Frequent yawning

  • Sneezing (>3 times per interval)

  • Nasal flaring

  • Respiratory rate greater than 60 breaths per minute without retractions

  • Apnea
