Drugs frequently associated with neonatal problems are listed below.

Opiates and narcotics include the following:

  • Codeine

  • Fentanyl

  • Heroin

  • Methadone

  • Meperidine (Demerol)

  • Oxycodone

  • Morphine

  • Hydromorphone (Dilaudid)

  • Butorphanol (Stadol)

  • Pentazocine

  • Propoxyphene (Darvon)

  • Chlordiazepoxide

  • Buprenorphine [7]
