  • Reducing HIV-related mortality and morbidity

  • Restoring and/or preserving immune function

  • Maximally and durably suppressing viral replication

  • Minimizing drug-related toxicity

  • Maintaining normal physical growth and neurocognitive development

  • Improving quality of life
