Answer

Answer

The average American female has an 11% lifetime risk of developing breast cancer. The risk in a first-degree relative (ie, mother, sister, daughter) of a breast cancer patient is two- to threefold greater. [30, 31] This risk is increased to ninefold when the patient has bilateral premenopausal breast cancer.
