Perforating disorders (all very rare in children) to consider in the differential diagnosis of molluscum contagiosum include the following:

  • Acquired reactive perforating dermatosis of renal failure

  • Kyrle disease

  • Perforating serpiginous elastoma

  • Perforating folliculitis

  • Verrucous perforating collagenoma

  • Perforating granuloma annulare
