In infants who respond, an improvement in oxygenation is evident within few minutes. Some studies have shown that concentrations as low as 5 ppm are effective in improving oxygenation. [43, 44] Lower concentrations (2 ppm) are not effective. [45] Once initiated, iNO should be gradually weaned to prevent rebound vasoconstriction.
