Answer

Although only described in case reports, it is important to recognize the increasing number of new fungal allergic diseases being reported. Acute eosinophilic pneumonia was reported in a 36-year-old man. It was confirmed by positive delayed skin testing (8 h and 24 h), lymphocyte stimulation testing, inhalation provocation testing, and selective production of interleukin 5 only by C albicans. [17] A case of systemic allergic contact dermatitis [18] and a case of hypersensitive pneumonitis [19] were reported after exposure to raw but edible shiitake mushrooms.
