Answer

Answer

Thyrotoxic storm is an unusual complication of thyroid surgery. This condition may result from manipulation of the thyroid gland during surgery in the patients with hyperthyroidism. It can develop preoperatively, intraoperatively, or postoperatively. Surgery is generally recommended only when patients have Graves disease and other treatment strategies fail or when underlying thyroid cancer is suspected. Thyrotoxic storm is potentially lethal and must be dealt with astutely.
