Complications from infraorbital nerve block may include the following:

  • Bleeding

  • Hematoma formation

  • Allergic or systemic reaction to anesthetic agent

  • Infection

  • Unintentional injection into artery or vein

  • Failure to anesthetize

  • Nerve damage

  • Swelling of the eyelid
