How is vitamin A toxicity treated in patients with symptomatic hypercalcemia?

Patients with symptomatic hypercalcemia require the following:

  • Close monitoring

  • Treatment with intravenous fluids and diuretics

  • Additional therapy, including pamidronate, calcitonin, corticosteroids, or mithramycin

  • Discontinuation of vitamin A
