Answer

Answer

Hypothermia is associated with a number of adverse effects and complications. The main adverse effects reported are shivering, cardiac arrhythmia, sepsis, coagulopathy, and electrolytes and metabolic disturbances. [76, 77]  Cold diuresis and hypovolemia may result. However, many large clinical trials and meta-analyses have reported these adverse effects to be infrequent. A trend toward increased incidence of sepsis has been noted.
