Answer

Answer

It is likely that the variables of timing of the initiation of cooling, cooling technique, rate, depth, and length of cooling and rewarming all have some effect on mortality and morbidity. However, at this time, these variables are not well studied and are the focus of several experimental and clinical trials. Furthermore, these variables will most likely have different levels of importance on the basis of clinical indications.
