Relative contraindications for alteplase therapy for AIS include the following:

  • Pregnancy
  • Rapidly improving stroke symptoms
  • Myocardial infarction (MI) in the previous 3 months
  • Glucose level lower than 50 mg/dL or higher than 400 mg/dL
