Answer

With appropriate education and treatment, patients with hemophilia can live full and productive lives. Prophylaxis and early treatment with FVIII concentrate that is safe from viral contamination have dramatically improved the prognosis of patients with severe hemophilia. Nevertheless, approximately one quarter of patients with severe hemophilia aged 6-18 years have below-normal motor skills and academic performance and have more emotional and behavioral problems than others.
