Which lab values suggest hemophilia A?

Expected laboratory values are as follows:

  • Hemoglobin/hematocrit: Normal (or low if associated bleeding)

  • Platelet count: Normal

  • Prothrombin time (PT): Normal

  • APTT: Significantly prolonged in severe hemophilia, but may be normal or minimally prolonged in mild or even moderate hemophilia
