Other conditions that should be considered when evaluating a patient with suspected hemorrhoids include anal cancer, anal fissures, and anal fistulae; pedunculated polyps; perianal abscesses; pruritus ani; prostatitis; proctitis, rectal prolase, proctalagia fugax; skin tags; condyloma; inflammatory bowel disease; and colorectal tumors.
