Symptoms of peritonsillar abscess usually begin 3-5 days prior to evaluation.

  • Fever

  • Malaise

  • Headache

  • Neck pain

  • Throat pain markedly more severe on the affected side and occasionally referred to the ipsilateral ear

  • Dysphagia

  • Change in voice

  • Otalgia

  • Odynophagia
