Endocrine causes of myopathy include the following:

  • Addison disease, particularly when fluid and electrolyte problems are present
  • Cushing disease
  • Hypothyroidism (CK may be mildly elevated)
  • Hyperthyroidism (CK may be normal)
  • Hyperparathyroidism
