Peripheral nerve lesions resulting in detrusor areflexia may be due to any of the following:

  • Diabetes mellitus
  • Tabes dorsalis (neurosyphilis)
  • Herpes zoster
  • Herniated lumbar disc disease
  • Radical pelvic surgery
