Answer

Acupuncture is a promising alternative therapy. A 2013 review of four randomized controlled trials of of acupuncture or acupressure in the treatment of urinary incontinence found no statistically significant improvement in urinary incontinence, but did note favorable effects on overactive bladder symptoms and quality of life. [91] A more recent randomized clinical trial by Liu et al in 504 women with stress urinary incontinence, treatment with electroacupuncture involving the lumbosacral region (18 sessions over 6 weeks) resulted in less urine leakage compared with sham electroacupuncture.
