Several reports suggest that laparoscopic resection and reanastomosis of the offending bowel segment is possible as a minimally invasive treatment. [64, 65, 66, 67, 68] However, an abdominal incision is still required for removal of the affected intestinal segment intact for pathological assessment to rule out cancer.
