Answer

A guideline from the International Society of Sexual Medicine recommends asking patients the following questions to establish the diagnosis of premature ejaculation [18] :

  • What is the time between penetration and ejaculation (cumming)?
  • Can you delay ejaculation?
  • Do you feel bothered, annoyed, and/or frustrated by your premature ejaculation?

Optional questions cover assessment of erectile function, impact of the problem on the patient's relationship with his partner, any previous treatment, and effect on quality of life. [18]
