The fusion of CT and PET (integrated CT-PET ) is now widely available and is very commonly used in clinical practice. Integrated CT-PET has been shown to be superior in anatomic localization and metabolic characterization of lesions as compared with CT alone, with PET scanning alone, or with using CT and PET and visually correlating the abnormalities.
