A complex cyst is a lesion that lacks one or more of the 4 criteria for a simple cyst. Complex cysts may contain internal echoes, limited posterior acoustic enhancement, wall irregularity, and/or an irregular shape. Further evaluation with cyst aspiration usually is recommended to exclude malignancy.

The keloids are superimposed on the breast tissue on the mammogram and can mimic breast lesions. Recent hematomas and/or seromas are frequently seen as a round or oval mass in the biopsy or lumpectomy site. Air-fluid levels may be observed in the acute postoperative period. Over time, the mass (hematoma) resolves.
