The following tests may be ordered for hepatitis C virus (HCV):

  • Bilirubin and transaminase levels – These are typically elevated, but normal transaminase levels do not exclude HCV infection
  • Anti-HCV
  • HCV-RNA by PCR
  • Cryoglobulins and RF
