Imaging studies are helpful for confirming a thrombotic event. Examples are the use of computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans of the following:

  • Brain (for stroke)
  • Chest (for pulmonary embolism)
  • Abdomen (for Budd-Chiari syndrome)
