Answer

Once induction of remission has occurred, maintenance of remission should be continued for at least 18 months, often longer. Agents that can be used in remission maintenance include azathioprine, methotrexate, rituximab, and leflunomide. [4, 75] Long-term oral cyclophosphamide has been used for remission maintenance but results in significant toxicity, making it unattractive.
