The workup may also include the following:

  • Extremity radiography should be performed to reveal calcinosis, resorption of the distal tufts of the digits, and to exclude osteomyelitis secondary to infected digital ulcers [111, 112]

  • Mandibular radiographs may reveal resorption of the ramus and the angle of the mandible
