Currently available serum markers of bone formation (osteoblast products) include the following:

  • Bone-specific alkaline phosphatase (BSAP)
  • Osteocalcin (OC)
  • Carboxyterminal propeptide of type 1 collagen (P1CP)
  • Aminoterminal propeptide of type 1 collagen (P1NP)
