Answer

Although routinely screening men for osteoporosis is not as widespread a practice as that of screening in women, the US Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) indicates that using bone measurement tests in men may not only help to detect this disease but also prevent its associated burden of fractures and fracture-related illness. [110]  Approximately 30% of all hip fractures occur in men and the mortality is higher in men than in women.
