Answer

SLE is more common in African Americans and Asians than in white people, with the highest prevalence in Caribbean people. The prevalence of lupus nephritis is much higher in Asians than in whites with SLE, but the 10-year renal outcome and renal survival rate appear to be better in Asians. [25] Particularly severe lupus nephritis may be more common in African Americans and Asians than in other ethnic groups. [21]
