Multiple other scoring models exist that can be used to aid in the prediction of mortality in severe illness (namely in the ICU setting), including the acute physiology and chronic health evaluation (APACHE II) score, [44] simplified acute physiology score (SAPS II), [45] and sepsis-related organ failure assessment (SOFA) score.
