What are the physical findings in bacterial pneumonia?

Physical findings may include the following:

  • Adventitious breath sounds, such as rales/crackles, rhonchi, or wheezes

  • Decreased intensity of breath sounds

  • Egophony

  • Whispering pectoriloquy

  • Dullness to percussion

  • Tracheal deviation

  • Lymphadenopathy

  • Pleural friction rub
