Black men (26.6 deaths per 100,000 population) are more likely to die from pneumonia compared with white men (23 deaths per 100,000 population), whereas black (17.4 deaths per 100,000 population) and white women (18.2 deaths per 100,000 population) are almost equally likely to die from pneumonia.
