Answer

A study involving 41 consecutive patients with hepatic hydrothorax indicated that hepatic hydrothorax virtually always presents with ascites that can be revealed by ultrasonography or computed tomography (CT) scanning. [35]  Point of care bedside ultrasonography has become the standard of care in many facilities. Also see Pleural Effusion Imaging.
