Answer

Results from a 12-week, randomized, placebo-controlled trial of 150 adults with current alcohol dependence showed that patients treated with the anticonvulsant gabapentin were more likely to stop drinking or at least abstain from heavy drinking than those taking a placebo. In addition, gabapentin significantly reduced cravings, sleeplessness, and depression. [51, 52, 53]
