Answer

A study by Liu et al found that when hematoxylin and eosin staining demonstrates loss of cellular polarity/cohesiveness (LOP/C) in the invasive front of papillary thyroid carcinoma, this finding may indicate lymph node metastasis and aggressive clinical behavior of the cancer. LOP/C of 20% or greater correlated significantly with extrathyroid invasion, advanced tumor stage, and recurrence after surgery. [44]
