The following workup should be considered for the diagnosis of papillary carcinoma, a relatively common well-differentiated thyroid cancer:

  • Thyroid function studies
  • Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) suppression test
  • Thyroid ultrasound
  • Fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB)
