This cancer occurs more frequently in whites than in blacks. The 5-year relative survival rates by race increased from 1975 to 2015, as follows [26] :

  • Whites: Increase from 92% to 99%
  • Blacks: Increase from 90% to 97%
  • All races: Increase from 92% to 99%
