In 2015, the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) released evidence-based guidelines for definitive and adjuvant radiotherapy in locally advanced NSCLC. [223, 224]  The American Society for Clinical Oncology has endorsed these guidelines. [225]

The guidelines cover patients with stage II or III locally advanced NSCLC whose disease is unresectable, and patients with stage II or III disease who are eligible for surgery. Key recommendation include the following [223, 224] :
