The most common serious adverse events in patients receiving afatinib included diarrhea (6.6%), vomiting (4.8%), dyspnea, fatigue, and hypokalemia (1.7%). Fatal adverse events included pulmonary toxicity/interstitial lung disease (1.3%), sepsis (0.43%), and pneumonia (43%). [147]
