Which chest radiography findings suggest non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)?

After physical examination and CBC, chest x-ray is often the first test performed. Chest radiographs may show the following:

  • Pulmonary nodule, mass, or infiltrate
  • Mediastinal widening
  • Atelectasis
  • Hilar enlargement
  • Pleural effusion
