Worldwide, an estimated1,849,518 new cases of colorectal cancer occurred in 2018 (10.2% of all cancers). Geographically, the incidence varies as much as 10-fold. The highest estimated rates are in Australia/New Zealand (per 100,000 population, 41.7 in men and 32.1 in women), and the lowest in South-Central Asia (per 100,000 population, 4.5 in men and 3.8 in women).
